Interac Online Casino Ontario: The Registered Route
Ontario was the first province where an Interac online casino has to be registered locally to serve you legally; Alberta followed on July 13, 2026. We checked how PlayOJO, Jackpot City, Royal Vegas and Spin Casino handle Ontario players, and what changes once you cross the provincial line.

This page is written for people with an Ontario address. If you live elsewhere in Canada, most of what follows about registration does not apply to you, and our main guide to Interac e-Transfer casinos is the better starting point. Ontario has its own market, its own rules on bonuses and its own list of approved sites. That list is the whole story here.
For Ontario residents, PlayOJO's Ontario site is our first pick because the no-wagering model survives the move into the regulated market. Jackpot City, Spin Casino and Royal Vegas follow, provided you confirm the Ontario version on iGaming Ontario's public list before you deposit.

Why an Interac casino in Ontario is not the same as one in Manitoba
Since April 4, 2022 Ontario has run an open, regulated iGaming market. Private operators can serve Ontarians, but only after the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) registers them and they sign an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario (iGO). Everyone else is, from Ontario's point of view, unregistered.
Who does what
People mix the two bodies up all the time. The AGCO is the regulator: it sets the standards, registers operators and suppliers, and handles compliance. iGO manages the commercial relationship with those operators. Under the iGaming Ontario Act, 2024, iGO stopped being an AGCO subsidiary in 2025 and now stands as its own provincial agency. You want a brand that appears on iGO's list of registered operators and websites, and you want the specific domain you are using to be on it.
| Body | Role | What it means for your Interac deposit | Where you see it |
|---|---|---|---|
| AGCO | Regulator and registrar | Sets rules on KYC, ads, bonuses and complaints | Registration notice in the site footer |
| iGaming Ontario | Runs the market and operator agreements | Publishes the list of approved sites | iGO logo and 'authorised' wording |
| OLG | Crown lottery and gaming corporation | Runs PlayOLG, its own online casino | PlayOLG account, separate from private brands |
| Offshore licensors (Kahnawake, Malta, others) | Licence outside Ontario | Not a substitute for Ontario registration | Footer of the rest-of-Canada site |
The age limit is 19 across Ontario, online and on the casino floor.
Offshore sites are not registered here
Plenty of the brands we review on this site hold licences from Kahnawake or elsewhere and accept Interac from players across Canada. None of that makes them registered with iGaming Ontario. Some geo-block Ontario IP addresses outright. Others send you to a separate Ontario domain with its own account. A few simply don't check, and those are the ones we would steer an Ontarian away from: if a dispute comes up, the AGCO has no hold over a site it never registered, and you have given up the complaint process the Ontario framework was built to provide.
If you live in Ontario, don't use a VPN or an out-of-province address to reach a rest-of-Canada version. Withdrawals can be voided when the operator spots the mismatch during verification.
Ontario online casino Interac options from our list
Four brands on our wider shortlist also run Ontario-specific versions. The numbers below come from the data we hold on each brand. Ontario bonus terms are often different from the national offer, and Ontario rules stop operators from advertising sign-up promotions outside their own sites, so confirm the current deal once you are logged in.
Side by side
| Brand | Interac support | Payout speed on file | Min. deposit | Studios | Ontario note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PlayOJO | Deposits & payouts | Most within minutes to 24h | $10 | NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Play'n GO, Games Global | iGaming Ontario listed for Ontario players |
| Jackpot City | Deposits & payouts | 48h pending + 1-3 days | $10 | Games Global, Evolution | Ontario version separate from the national site |
| Spin Casino | Deposits & payouts | 48h pending + 1-3 days | $10 | Games Global, Evolution, Pragmatic Play | Check iGO list for the Ontario domain |
| Royal Vegas | e-Transfer deposits & payouts | 48h pending + 1-3 days | $10 | Games Global, Evolution | Runs separate Ontario and Alberta experiences |
PlayOJO is run by SkillOnNet Ltd under a Malta licence for the rest of Canada and an iGO registration for Ontario. Jackpot City, Spin Casino and Royal Vegas belong to Baytree Interactive Ltd, licensed in Kahnawake (licence 01059) for their national sites. The Ontario versions sit on their own registrations, so the Kahnawake licence number you see on the national site is not the one that protects you in Ontario.
PlayOJO
PlayOJO's no-wagering approach is the reason it tops this page. Spins pay cash, OJOplus returns a slice of every bet, and there is no minimum withdrawal. When we cashed out small amounts via Interac on the regular Canadian site, money landed fast; Ontario timing will depend on your own bank and the review queue. The one catch the brand data flags: bonus terms differ between Ontario and the rest of Canada, so the welcome you read about elsewhere may not be the one you get.
The Baytree trio
Jackpot City (since 1998), Spin Casino (2001) and Royal Vegas (2000) share a back office and a cashier design, which is why their payout pattern is identical on paper: a 48-hour pending window, then one to three days. Spin Casino has the widest studio mix of the three thanks to Pragmatic Play, and its account area includes self-test tools. Royal Vegas Rewards points convert at 1,000 points to one credit with no wagering. Jackpot City is the old name with eCOGRA-audited games and no sportsbook on the Canadian site.
- Jackpot City: largest heritage, four-step welcome on the national site
- Spin Casino: 24/7 live chat, Mega Moolah jackpots
- Royal Vegas: loyalty credits without wagering, basic lobby search
- All three: Interac in CAD, $10 minimum deposit
Checking that an Interac casino is registered in Ontario
This takes two minutes and we do it every time a brand changes its domain. Copycat sites exist.
The two-minute check
- Open iGaming Ontario's public list of registered operators and gaming sites.
- Find the brand and note the exact web address listed beside it.
- Compare it character by character with the address bar on the site you are about to join.
- Scroll to the footer and look for the AGCO registration wording and the iGO mark.
- Confirm the site asks for an Ontario address and runs a geolocation check at login.
An 'Ontario' site that lets you register with no location prompt and pushes a large match bonus on its homepage is behaving unlike any registered operator we have tested.
What registration gets you
Registered sites must follow AGCO standards on identity checks, advertising, responsible gambling tools and dispute handling. Complaints go to the operator first; if that fails, you can raise it with the AGCO. Deposit limits and time-outs have to be easy to find. Our fast withdrawal guide explains why verification still slows the very first cashout even on a well-run site.
How Interac behaves on Ontario casino sites
Interac works the same way at an iGO-registered site as anywhere else in Canada. You pick Interac in the cashier, you are passed to your bank or an e-Transfer request, and the money shows up in CAD. The differences are in the checks around it.
Typical bank limits Ontarians run into
Most Ontario players bank with one of the big five, a credit union such as Meridian, or an online bank. Interac e-Transfer limits are set by your bank, not the casino, and they change. The figures below are typical ranges we see reported; check your own online banking before you plan a larger deposit.
| Bank type | Typical daily e-Transfer send limit | Usual speed to casino | Common snag |
|---|---|---|---|
| Big five (RBC, TD, BMO, Scotiabank, CIBC) | About $3,000 to $10,000 | Minutes | Gambling blocks on some credit products |
| Ontario credit unions | Often $2,000 to $5,000 | Minutes | Lower default limits until you ask |
| Online banks (Tangerine, Simplii and similar) | About $3,000 to $5,000 | Minutes | Extra security prompts on new payees |
| Brand-new account at any bank | Can be under $1,000 | Minutes | Limits rise only after a holding period |
More detail on how limits differ bank to bank is in our Interac limits by bank breakdown.
Withdrawals
Expect the first cashout to wait on ID and proof of address. After that, the brand's own processing time sets the pace. On the Baytree sites that means the pending window before the e-Transfer is sent. If you're the sort of player who reverses withdrawals during that window, Ontario sites give you deposit and loss limits for exactly that habit. Use them.
Land-based casinos and the provincial alternative
Ontarians have more bricks-and-mortar choice than any other province, and OLG's own PlayOLG sits alongside the private sites. Interac debit is the usual way to buy in at the cage, and ATMs are on site everywhere.
Major venues
| Venue | Area | Known for | Age |
|---|---|---|---|
| Casino Rama Resort | Rama First Nation, near Orillia | Large resort with entertainment centre | 19+ |
| Fallsview Casino Resort | Niagara Falls | Biggest gaming floor in the Niagara area | 19+ |
| Casino Niagara | Niagara Falls | Older, smaller sister venue near Clifton Hill | 19+ |
| Caesars Windsor | Windsor | Riverfront resort facing Detroit | 19+ |
| Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto | Etobicoke, at Woodbine | Largest casino in the GTA | 19+ |
PlayOLG versus private brands
PlayOLG accepts Interac and carries the Crown corporation's backing. The private brands usually have larger game libraries and more frequent promotions inside the account.
Limits, self-exclusion and help in Ontario
Registered sites have to give you the tools; you still have to switch them on.
Where to call
ConnexOntario runs a free, confidential 24/7 line for gambling, mental health and addiction help at 1-866-531-2600. The Responsible Gambling Council, based in Toronto, publishes self-help material and runs on-site centres at many casinos. OLG offers self-exclusion for its land venues and PlayOLG, and registered private sites provide their own account closures and cool-off periods.
- Set a deposit limit on day one, before any promotion lands in your inbox
- Use time reminders on mobile, where sessions run longer
- Ask your bank about a gambling-transaction block if you want a hard stop
If you are travelling
Leave Ontario for a weekend in Quebec and an iGO site will stop you at login, because the geolocation check is tied to where you are, not where you live. If you need a casino for play outside the province, read about Interac casinos on mobile and make sure the site's rules cover where you actually are.
Interac Online Casino Ontario: The Registered Route: FAQ
Can I use an Interac online casino in Ontario legally?
Yes, if the site is registered with the AGCO and has an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario. Those sites accept Interac in CAD for deposits and usually withdrawals. Sites licensed only offshore, for example in Kahnawake or Curaçao, are not registered for Ontario, and we recommend Ontario residents stick to the iGO list.
Is Jackpot City available as an Ontario online casino with Interac?
Jackpot City runs an Ontario version separate from its national site, and Interac is part of its cashier. The national site is licensed by Kahnawake under Baytree Interactive Ltd. Confirm the Ontario domain against iGaming Ontario's public list before registering, and expect bonus terms to differ from the rest-of-Canada offer.
Why does my Interac casino block me in Ontario?
Either the site is not registered in Ontario and geo-blocks the province, or it is registered and your device failed the location check. Registered sites confirm you are physically in Ontario at login. Turning off a VPN, enabling location on mobile, or switching off a corporate network usually fixes the second case.
How long do Interac withdrawals take at Ontario casinos?
On our data, PlayOJO pays most withdrawals within minutes to 24 hours, while Jackpot City, Spin Casino and Royal Vegas hold requests for 48 hours before a one to three day transfer. The first cashout takes longer because of ID checks. Your bank's own processing can add a little time on top.
What is the gambling age in Ontario?
You must be 19 to gamble in Ontario, whether at a land-based casino such as Fallsview or Casino Rama, on PlayOLG or on any iGO-registered private site. Registered operators verify age during sign-up and again before your first withdrawal, so a mismatch between your ID and account details will hold up payment.
Are casino bonuses smaller in Ontario?
Often different rather than simply smaller. Ontario rules restrict how operators advertise sign-up offers, and several brands run Ontario-specific terms. PlayOJO's own data notes that its bonus terms vary between Ontario and the rest of Canada. Check the promotions page after logging in rather than trusting a national figure you saw elsewhere.
Who do I complain to about an Ontario online casino?
Start with the operator's support team and keep copies of chat logs and emails. If the problem is not resolved, a registered operator falls under the AGCO, which accepts complaints about sites it has registered. That route is not available for offshore sites, which is a major reason we point Ontarians to iGO-registered brands.
How is Alberta's new market different from Ontario's?
The model is close: private operators need a provincial licence and a commercial agreement, and offshore-only sites are outside the framework. In Alberta the regulator is AGLC and the agreements sit with the Alberta iGaming Corporation, the market opened on July 13, 2026, and the age limit is 18 instead of 19. See our Alberta guide.
Can I keep my Ontario casino account if I move to Alberta?
No. Ontario accounts work only while you are physically in Ontario, and the geolocation check will block you elsewhere. Open an account on the brand's Alberta version, if it has one, and close or self-exclude the Ontario account as you prefer.
